Ralf Rangnick, currently steering the Austrian national team, is also expecting a call. Milan wants him as their new technical director. Rangnick, being Rangnick, won’t come cheap or easy. He wants total control. He wants his own disciples, specifically Southampton’s Johannes Spors and Manchester United’s Christopher Vivell. It is his way or the highway.
Then there is David Alaba. The veteran defender is 34 now. His body is breaking down. He spent the 2025-26 campaign battling injuries, a fact Milan’s board is well aware of. Yet, they still want him.
