She is back. Or at least, that is what she wants us to believe. Suni Lee just dropped a teaser on social media, hinting at another run in the gym.
“I know what I’m capable of,” Lee declared over a slickly edited montage of training clips and past podium glory. It is the classic athlete hype video. She added that she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back to the top. The caption was even shorter: “i’m back.”
At the end of the clip, text flashed across the screen reading, “This is more than a comeback. Stay tuned.”
Let’s look at the ledger. Lee is 23. She already has six Olympic medals, including an all-around gold from Tokyo and a team gold from Paris. Most people would retire. But Lee has a habit of defying the odds. She already fought her way back from two debilitating kidney diseases just to make the Paris roster. If she says she is training again, you probably shouldn’t bet against her.
