Protecting the Saint: Legacy Media Ignores Fauci’s Fame-Obsessed Pandemic Diaries

Politics

Remember the pandemic? People died. Businesses collapsed. Meanwhile, America’s top doctor was apparently staring in the mirror, practicing his autograph. Newly leaked diary entries from Dr. Anthony Fauci reveal a man utterly consumed by his own celebrity during the height of the COVID-19 crisis. Yet, if you get your news from the corporate broadcast giants, you wouldn’t know a damn thing about it.

Total radio silence. From Saturday afternoon through Monday morning, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MS NOW completely blanked the story. Not a single mention on their flagship morning shows or evening broadcasts. Grabien Media ran the transcripts. Nothing. The networks protected their darling.

Senator Rand Paul, Fauci’s chief antagonist on Capitol Hill, released the journals as part of a Senate Homeland Security Committee probe. The pages expose a bizarre reality. While the country panicked, Fauci was busy rubbing elbows with media elites, whining about the Trump administration, and marveling at his own status. He actually wrote that it was “not hyperbole” to call himself the most famous person in America. Talk about an ego.

The silence makes sense when you see who is in the diaries. CNN’s Jake Tapper was hosting Fauci for cozy dinners at his Washington home. Tapper even checked in privately to ensure his interviews weren’t getting Fauci in hot water with the White House. When a reporter suggested Fauci had been humiliated, Fauci’s diary response was simple: “F— you.”

It gets worse. After a heated 2021 congressional clash with Representative Jim Jordan, CNN’s Dana Bash texted Fauci to tell him he was “a better man.” She added that Wolf Blitzer joked Fauci should have told Jordan to “go f— yourself.” These aren’t journalists. They are a fan club.

Social media erupted over the leaks. The mainstream press? They looked the other way. Fox News analyst Brit Hume called out the obvious conflict of interest, wondering if the blackout was because these media stars were so chummy with the man they were supposed to be covering. None of the major networks offered an explanation. MS NOW declined to comment, while the others ignored inquiries entirely. Fauci is scheduled to testify under subpoena this week. We will see if the cameras finally turn on.
