John Fetterman is worried. The Pennsylvania Senator thinks his own party is sliding off a cliff. He claims a “significant part” of the Democratic establishment is currently being hijacked by fringe elements. This warning comes right after a wave of democratic socialist victories in recent congressional primaries.
Speaking on Fox News’s “Saturday in America,” Fetterman didn’t hold back. He sees a red tide rising inside the blue tent. He pointed directly to Graham Platner in Maine—whom he mockingly called “P. Hustle”—alongside a fresh crop of NYC progressives and a primary challenger in Colorado. To Fetterman, this is the party’s grim new trajectory.
Platner calls himself a “New Deal Democrat” and champions Medicare for All. He is the presumptive nominee in Maine. Meanwhile, down in New York, two democratic socialists just unseated establishment incumbents with a heavy assist from NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
It doesn’t stop there. In Colorado, democratic socialist Melat Kiros is gunning for Representative Diana DeGette, a fifteen-term moderate. That primary happens later this week.
But Fetterman’s beef isn’t just ideological. It’s personal, and it’s dirty. He has spent weeks hammering Platner over a sexting scandal. The Maine candidate allegedly sent explicit messages to multiple women on Kik, an app notorious for its lack of moderation.
Why was “P. Hustle” on Kik for ten years? Fetterman wants to know. He publicly questioned whether Platner even verified the ages of the women he messaged. The Senator’s verdict? The guy lied to everyone.
