Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan have been instrumental in fueling Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dynamic IPL 2026 campaign. This formidable trio has consistently delivered high scores, embodying SRH’s signature aggressive batting style throughout the tournament.
During their IPL 2026 encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Hyderabad franchise reached a significant milestone. Sharma, Klaasen, and Kishan became only the second batting lineup in IPL history from the same team to each accumulate over 500 runs in a single season.
This SRH trio now shares this exclusive record with Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler, who accomplished the same feat for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025.
Klaasen has led SRH in scoring this season, surpassing 550 runs with an average exceeding 50.
Explosive opener Abhishek Sharma has also crossed the 550-run mark in IPL 2026, boasting an impressive strike rate of over 200.
Kishan, who captained SRH during the initial phase of the tournament before the return of regular skipper Pat Cummins, has also surpassed 500 runs this season.
Having already secured their spot in the playoffs, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first against RCB.
RCB welcomed back captain Rajat Patidar, who replaced the injured Jacob Bethell, marking the sole change in their playing XI. SRH maintained the same team composition from their previous match.
SRH skipper Cummins acknowledged that securing a top-two finish was a long shot but emphasized the team’s desire to maximize their chances by setting a substantial total.
RCB currently holds 18 points from nine wins in 13 matches, while SRH has 16 points from the same number of games. A victory for Hyderabad would keep their aspirations alive for climbing to second place based on Net Run Rate.
“I think finishing in the top two is a long shot, but we just want to give it a crack. We want the boys to enjoy tonight,” Cummins stated at the toss.
SRH’s decision to bat first appeared strategic, as the Hyderabad pitch looked dry and even, offering consistent bounce and carry—optimal conditions for impactful strokeplay and aggressive batting.
