College recruiting is a circus. Right now, Jedd Fisch is holding the whip. Word on the street—specifically from 247Sports analyst Zach Blostein—is that the Washington Huskies are poised to land Censere Gaylord. It’s a crystal ball prediction. Nothing is signed. But in this game, perception is everything.
Gaylord is a prize. He stands six feet tall, weighing in at 170 pounds. Currently, he plays for IMG Academy in Florida. But he started in Southern California. Bringing him back to the West Coast would be a massive feather in the cap for secondary coach John Richardson. Fisch needs this win.
The kid has options. Thirty-two of them, to be exact. He’s ranked 113th nationally. Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Auburn are sniffing around. If Fisch pulls this off, Gaylord becomes his crown jewel. He would join safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and cornerback Maurice Williams in a secondary class that is suddenly looking very formidable. It’s a long way to signing day. But right now, Seattle looks like the destination.
