Enrique Cerezo just can’t seem to keep his names straight. The Atlético Madrid bigwig faced the press today, and naturally, the grilling turned to Julián Álvarez.
First came the comedy. Cerezo, in a brilliant display of executive focus, referred to the Argentine star as “Julián López.” Once he got past the identity crisis, the message to Barcelona was clear. He isn’t leaving. Period.
Cerezo also tried to sweep those pesky World Cup comments under the rug. You know, the ones where the player openly hinted at a departure. The president claims it was just a misunderstanding. A slip of the tongue. Right. We’ll see if “The Spider” agrees when he finally decides to speak up.
