Gwinnett Stripers 13, Nashville Sounds 10
Garrett Bauman was a disaster. He lasted two innings. He surrendered eight earned runs. It was a bloodbath. By the third inning, Gwinnett trailed 10-2. The game felt over. It wasn’t.
Connor Thomas stepped in to stop the bleeding. He threw four innings, giving up two runs before settling down. Then, the bullpen locked it. Joel Payamps and Rolddy Muñoz combined for three perfect, scoreless frames. That gave the offense a chance. They took it.
The comeback started slow. Luke Williams and Brewer Hicklen drove in runs. Brett Wisely chipped in. By the seventh, it was 10-7. In the eighth, Ben Gamel and Jair Camargo brought Gwinnett within one. Then came the ninth. Aaron Schunk tied it with a sacrifice fly. Jose Azócar singled home the go-ahead run. A fielding error by Luis Matos allowed two more to score. Muñoz struck out the side in the bottom half. Gwinnett secured the largest comeback victory in franchise history. Jim Jarvis went 3-for-4. Azócar had three hits. It was pure chaos.

Pitching won this one. Lucas Braun started. He danced on a tightrope. He walked four and gave up five hits but somehow allowed zero runs over five innings. He struck out seven.
The bullpen was flawless. Danny Young, Ian Mejia, Blake Burkhalter, and Tyler LaPorte combined for four hitless innings. They shut the door hard.
On offense, the Clingstones were efficient. Ambioris Tavarez singled in a run. Archer Brookman hit a solo shot. Patrick Clohisy walked, stole two bases, and scored on a bad throw. Jordan Groshans put the exclamation point on the night with an eighth-inning home run.
Greensboro Grasshoppers 5, Rome Emperors 2
Rome’s offense went cold. They ran into Seth Hernandez. It did not go well.
Zach Royse kept things quiet early. Then the sixth inning arrived. He gave up two solo homers, two doubles, and a balk. He was yanked. David Rodriguez, Drew Christo, and Jacob Kroeger threw 3.1 hitless innings in relief, but the damage was done.
Isaiah Drake tried to carry the team. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. Nobody helped him. The rest of the lineup went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. They left eight men on base.

Landon Beidelschies had a rough night. He got rocked for six runs on eight hits in four innings. Logan Forsythe relieved him and looked great, striking out six over three innings, but the hole was too deep.
The bats showed some life late. Tanner Smith hit a solo homer. Michael Martinez hit a two-run blast. Alex Lodise drove in a run in the seventh. Lodise is on fire lately, hitting .272 with six homers over his last 21 games. It wasn’t enough to save this one.

A total embarrassment. Wuilinyer Tovar got hammered for five runs in four innings. The offense managed just one run. Diego Tornes hit a 108 MPH groundout and was immediately pulled from the game. No explanation was given.

Another ugly loss. Jesus Cova pitched three scoreless innings to start. The bullpen immediately blew it. Jorwin Pulido had two hits and scored twice, but the pitching staff walked too many and gave up ten runs.
